The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services proposed to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia as a radiogenic cancer under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act.
Under the proposal, a qualified claim would be referred to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for radiation dose reconstruction. The U.S. Department of Labor would determine the probability of causation and complete the adjudication of the claim.
